About us

"Food is personal." Coming from a Southern background where food is a centerpiece at every gathering, we take that to heart! We believe, however, food should feed your senses AND nourish your body. So our desserts and even our syrups are old-school, made with enough sugar to be sweet, but not so much that you can't taste all the ingredients.

When Kate & Beth decided, in the midst of the economic downturn to set up shop, they knew it was a pie-in-the-sky cost goal to make everything from scratch, using a variety of local, organic, and sustainable ingredients...making sure they had available food for a variety of diets...paying workers a living wage, and using sustainable to-go containers. Eleven years later, they are offering not only treats and coffee, but breakfast & lunch with the same commitment to food integrity-- while striving to provide you a nurturing environment to share with friends and family!

Kate H.

Our founder, Kate, was born and raised in Warner Robins, Georgia, and at the tender age of 9, knew that baking was her happy place. Influenced by her sister Shirley who studied home economics, Kate has spent decades baking and cooking delicious treats for friends & family, taking courses and studying on her own to expand her craft in the kitchen. She has an extensive practice in special diet preparation, and proves herself invaluable as a resource to guests in search of food, dessert, and direction for their families. Kate is the mother of two daughters, Beth and Connie, a grandson, Jack, and granddog, Shadow. She has a BA in American history, an MBA, and paralegal certification.
